When bad things happen it is normal for people to feel bad. Cause-and-effect, right? Bad event causes bad feelings. Common sense tells us that if we stop the bad thing then the bad feelings will also stop. Hence the reason people are so quick to try and fix our problems (especially husbands) . This is an emotional optical illusion.
The reality of life is a little different. Bad thing happens and we feel bad. Bad thing stops happening and we still feel bad (at least for a while). That’s because the bad thing has left a wound that still hurts and need time to heal. Removing a bullet after being shot doesn’t instantly make our leg stop hurting. We still have a wound that will take time to heal.
For those who like to fix things… once things are fixed still allow people the time heal. They will appreciate your efforts much more.
